Why AI agents need
better context.

The next leap isn’t just a smarter model.
It’s knowing what to do, and where to do it.

F The Fieldnotes Editors Sample article

Useful agents start with the right context: the page you’re reading, your goal, and the controls they can act on.

Reusable skills turn intent into steps. Read an article, summarize its ideas, switch to your notes, and write them down.

Every action needs a check. Verify the result and keep only the context the next step needs.

LESS NOISE. MORE THOUGHT.

More thought. Less token overhead.

Built-in AI and the CLI share a browser service and Skill: clear steps for what to read, how to act, and how to verify.

Designed to reduce redundant context. Actual token use depends on the page, model, and task; no controlled comparison is available yet.
01READ

Read structure first

Start with text and named controls on ordinary web pages, without first reading screenshots.

02ACT

Act on what was observed

Use observed control references to act, then read the page again to verify the result.

Observe → Act → Verify
03REMEMBER

Keep context compact

READING THE PAGE

From answers to actions

What makes an AI agent useful on the web?

A useful agent starts with context. It needs to understand the current page and the controls it can use before taking the next step.

Browser skills connect observation and action. After making a change, the agent reads the page again to check what happened.
